Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement

SCAMPI (Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement) is the appraisal process of the Software Engineering Institute ( SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University, to evaluate the implementation of the requirements of a process model into an organization. SCAMPI is a registered trademark of the SEI.

SCAMPI was originally designed for the evaluation of organizations against the CMMI process model, but the method can also be used as well to check other process models such as ISO / IEC 12207 or DIN EN ISO 9001.

The appraisal process SCAMPI implements the requirements of ISO / IEC 15504 in an evaluation process. An important part in this process is the gathering and assessing PIID ( " Practice Implementation Indicator Database ").
