Stanisław Ernest Denhoff

Stanisław Ernest Denhoff ( born September 7, 1679 Berent; † August 2, 1728 in Gdansk ) was a Polish Kongresschwertträger, Feldhetman of Lithuania, voivode of Polotsk and Konföderationsmarschall the Confederation of Sandomirz.

Family

Count Stanisław Ernest Denhoff came from the Dönhoff family and was a son of Count Władysław Denhoff († 1683) and Joanna Konstancja Słuszka († October 30, 1733 ). He was married in first marriage with Countess Maria Johanna Katharina Dönhoff ( 1686-1723 ). From this marriage his only daughter Konstancja emerged ( 1717-1791 ). She was first married to Prince Janusz Aleksander Sanguszko (1712-1775) the court marshal of Lithuania, in a second marriage with Joseph Rogalinski († 1820). Stanisław Ernest Denhoff was a second marriage with Maria Zofia Sienawska (1698-1771), the daughter of Adam Mikołaj Sieniawski.

Life

Stanisław Ernest Denhoff was on Mr. Liebenau, Kauden and Gram sows in Courland. Since 1697 Jägermeister of Lithuania from 1709 to 1728 Feldhetman of Lithuania from 1721 to 1728 voivode of Polotsk, and Starosta of Nowokorczyńsk, Kaluga, Kościersk, Lubocheńsk, Mozyrsk, Latowick, Lucyńsk and Zydekańsk.

In the Battle of Poltava Denhoff fought for Poland - Lithuania on the side of Peter the Great.

As a supporter of Augustus the Strong, he was appointed on 20 May 1704 Konföderationsmarschall the Confederation of Sandomir.

In the years 1704-1721 Denhoff was also Polish Kongresschwertträger, and in 1710, 1712 and 1713 also Speaker of the Sejm, however, closed in 1717, unhappy with provisions to power limitations of the szlachta by the dumb Sejm, the opposition to.

Denhoff was a knight of the White Eagle Order. He was buried in the family chapel at Jasna Góra.
