Star Fleet Project is a 1983 released mini LP of Brian May Friends. It arose from largely improvised sessions of Queen guitarist in collaboration with guitarist Eddie Van Halen, Alan Gratzer ( drummer from REO Speedwagon ), Phil Chen ( session bassist, played among other me Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck) and Fred Mandel. The session keyboardist almond accompanied Queen in 1982 on the " Hot Space " tour and had then to Queens album The Works and Freddie Mercury's solo album Mr. Bad Guy with.

Starfleet was taken on the first day, Brian May leads the tremendous energy of the piece back to the nervousness of all stakeholders, which coincided with the unfamiliar situation.

Blues Braker - dedicated to Eric Clapton - came on the second day in a relaxed, spontaneous atmosphere in which everyone can sit back and could enjoy the inspiration of others. Brian May and Eddie Van Halen gave themselves entirely their guitars down and improvised solos tirelessly.
