Staraya Kupavna

Staraya Kupawna (Russian Старая Купавна ) is a town with 21 811 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in Rajon Noginsk of Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located 23 km from the eastern city limits of Moscow away. The nearest towns are Monino and Lossino - Petrovsky.

History

The settlement was first mentioned in writing in Kupawna years 1353rd In the 18th century there arose of a brick and a 1812 resolution watchmaker. Since the 1930s, developed from the former village an urban-type settlement, were settled in the predominantly workers and employees of the nearby, founded at that time industrial enterprises.

Economy and infrastructure

In today's Staraya Kupawna there are around a dozen smaller industrial enterprises, including a textile factory and a chemical plant.
