Stare Olesno

Stare Olesno ( German Alt -Rosenberg ) is a village with 500 inhabitants in the southern Polish community Olesno in the Opole Voivodeship. It is 5.5 kilometers northwest of the center of Olesno, at Stober.

History

For the year 1372 the name Rosenberg villa is demonstrated for the year 1439 the name Rosenberg antiquarian, later became Old -Rosenberg, Rosenberg Old or Altrosenberg used. As the place in 1945 to Poland fell was Stare Olesno officially. Until the Second World War it was a Prussian municipality in the Upper Silesian Polish border in the district of Rosenberg OS.

Sight

Historically significant is the Built in the 17th century grist wooden church of St. Mary Magdalene, a daughter church of the Catholic parish of St. Michael in Olesno.
