The State Engineering University of Armenia ( Armenian Հայաստանի Պետական ​​Ճարտարագիտական ​​Համալսարան; Russian Государственный инженерный университет Армении, English State Engineering University of Armenia ) is a public university based in the Armenian capital Yerevan. It also operates branches in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Goris and Kapan.

History

The university was founded as the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1933 with two faculties and 107 students. The Institute has developed in parallel with the industrialization of Armenia, reaching 1980-1985 the peak of its development with approximately 25,000 students and more than 66 departments. The institute was the largest university and one of the leading technical universities in the Soviet Union. During the 75-year existence, more than 100,000 graduates have successfully completed the University.

In response to the changing political and economic environment, the Institute formed around 1991 and became the state engineer University of Armenia.

The University is actively seeking to build a dense international scientific network and maintain.
