Stefan Everts

Stefan Everts ( born November 25, 1972 in Bree, Belgium) is a Belgian motocross rider. His ten world titles are record. He is considered one of the best motocross riders in the previous racing history.

Stefan Everts ' father Harry Everts rode motocross and was also successful four -time world champion.

2003 Stefan Everts won in Ernée (France) in one day all three discharged Grand Prix (125, 250 and 500 cc ). He is the only driver who has managed to become world champion with all four Japanese manufacturers of dirt bikes, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha and the second driver after Eric Geboers, the unofficial title of "Mr. 875 cc " (World Champion in classes 125, 250 and 500 cc ) reached.

1999 Stefan Everts suffered in an accident during a Grand Prix severe bone fractures and had to stay in the hospital for months. He battled his way back to the world class and still won six more world titles in series.

Everts holds numerous world records, among other things, he has the most world titles (ten World Cup titles) and the most Grands Prix won (101 GP wins ).

In 2006, after his tenth world title, he announced his retirement from active competition known and took a job as athletic director at the KTM motocross team. He lives with his wife Kelly and his son Liam in Monaco.

Achievements

Everts won several times the Belgian Championship as well as the "Grand Prix des Nations " with Belgium. He has been repeatedly named to " Belgian Sportsman of the Year ".
