Stefan Gimpl

Stefan Gimpl ( born October 31, 1979 in Leogang, Salzburg) is an Austrian freestyle snowboarder residing in Saalfelden.

Life

At the age of twelve years, Stefan Gimpl first stood on a snowboard and stood behind his parents' home his first own jumps. In 1996, he began his career in Japan and now plays in part as a professional driver in international competitions. He is so far the only driver, which the Air & Style Contest has won three times in a row. In addition, he won the FIS World Cup Big Air three times for themselves and win the bronze medal in the Big Air competition at the FIS Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon, South Korea. In the alternative Snowboardweltournee the TTR Gimpl could so far only a single podium finish on it (2nd at Wängl Tängl 2006 Mayrhofen ) In addition to snowboarding Stefan Gimpl also plays tennis and has a single-handicap in golf.
