Stefan Kreiner

Stefan Kreiner ( born October 30, 1973 in Feldkirch ) is a former Austrian Nordic combined. His greatest achievement was winning the bronze medal in the team competition at the Olympic Winter Games 1992.

Career

Stefan Kreiner visited the Skihauptschule in Schruns and the Skigymnasium in Stams. Initially focused on the alpine skiing, he moved at the age of 14 years for the Nordic Combined. In the 1989/90 season he achieved several top 10 results in the Austria Cup, but lost after two torn ligaments some time pause ( he drew a further volumes plan is September 10, 2011 at the Hypo football championships in Kematen to where he also finished in third place ). The next winter he was fourth in the Alpine Cup.

From the winter 1991/92 Kreiner came in B- World Cup used, whereby he at December 15, 1991 achieved his best result with second place in Predazzo. Then he made his debut on January 11, 1992 in Breitenwang in A World Cup, where he came eleventh straight away. A week later he finished in Murau rank 17 and shortly afterwards he was Austrian Junior Champion. With these achievements, he become a member of the Austrian team for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville. There he first achieved the 17th place in the individual (together with the Czech Josef Kovařík ) and won six days later with Klaus and Klaus Ofner Sulzenbacher the bronze medal in the team competition. Then he came at the Junior World Championship in 1992 in Vuokatti twelfth place in singles and sixth with the team.

In the following years, however, Kreiner could not connect to these results. Both the A- and B- World Cup World Cup did not reach top places more and so he ended his career in 1995.
