Stefano Gervasoni

Stefano Gervasoni ( born July 26, 1962 in Bergamo ) is an Italian composer.

He studied composition with Luca Lombardi, Niccolò Castiglioni and Azio Corghi at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, he graduated from in 1989. Encounters with Luigi Nono and Helmut Lachenmann have strongly influenced him in his future work. 1992-93 he studied at the invitation of IRCAM electroacoustic music and musical computer science in Paris. 1995-96 named it the Villa Medici in Rome as composer in residence. 2006 lived and worked Gervasoni a DAAD scholarship in Berlin. Since 2007 he has - as the successor of Emmanuel Nunes - a professor of composition at the Paris Conservatoire ( CNSMDP ).
