Stefano Gobbi

Stefano Gobbi ( born March 22, 1930 in Dongo, Como Province, Italy, † June 29, 2011 in Milan ) was a Roman Catholic priest and founder of the Marian Movement of Priests.

Life

Stefano Gobbi was a member of the Society of St. Paul, one of the first Pontifical Secular Institute, which was founded in 1920 by the Archbishop of Milan Andrea Carlo Ferrari. Gobbi was first insurance manager in Milan and received priestly ordination in 1964. He received his doctorate at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in theology.

In 1972 he founded the Marian Movement of Priests ( MPB), a Catholic association of priests with the aim of implementing the revelation of Fatima. The association claims to belong (as of 2011 ) about 400 bishops (about 10%) and 100 000 priests (about 25 %).

His work Libro azul ( The Blue Book, in Germany under the title of Our Lady of the priests, their beloved sons ) with his statements to the Virgin Mary, which first appeared in 1973, was the basis for his work.
