Steffen Korell

Steffen Korell ( born October 27, 1971 in Zweibrücken) is a former German football player.

The 1.80 m wide Defensive Allrounder played in the youth for the SV Bottenbach. His professional career started in the 1990/1991 season at the then second division side FC 08 Homburg. For the SC Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach, he completed a total of 117 Bundesliga games and 190 second-division games. Due to a cartilage injury ended Korell on 2 February 2005 his active career.

Currently, Korell as team manager portion of the athletic " expert teams " of Borussia, which includes, among other things beside him sporting director Max Eberl. Korell is link between the team and athletic line. Especially new players are supported by the Team Manager: He helps them with their administrative procedures, provides assistance in finding accommodation and organizes German courses when needed. Korell looks at the Games of Borussia from the stands and supports the game analysis of the trainer. In addition, Korell is used for observation of upcoming opponents or potential future players. In addition, he organized friendly matches as well as summer and winter training camp.
