Steidl

The Steidl Verlag is one of the few owner- publishers in Germany, which consist independent company. The program focuses on international photographers as well as on the Fiction. One of the most famous authors Günter Grass. The publisher is headed by Gerhard Steidl.

History

Steidl worked after school in Göttingen since 1967 as a printer and designer. Before long, he founded his own publishing house. Influenced by Andy Warhol and Joseph Beuys, he began in 1970 working with Klaus Staeck whose billboards and posters were published by Steidl.
