Stella McCartney

Stella Nina McCartney, OBE (* September 13 1971 in London) is a British fashion designer.

Biography

Family

Stella McCartney is the daughter of Linda and Paul McCartney. Stella has two siblings and two half-siblings. The older half- sister Heather Louise ( b. 1963 ), sister Mary Anna ( b. 1969 ), brother of James Louis ( b. 1977 ) and the younger half-sister, Beatrice Milly (* 2003).

Stella McCartney is married to Alasdhair Willis since 2003. The couple has four children.

Career

Stella McCartney studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London. Her final collection was presented by Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. In 1997, McCartney chief designer of Paris fashion house Chloé, a position in which Karl Lagerfeld had worked previously. 2001 McCartney left Chloé to get started with their own label Stella McCartney at the French luxury goods group PPR associated with Gucci Group. Since 2004, she designed a collection for Adidas and for the Paris department store Printemps, a lingerie line ( 2004). In winter 2005/2006 you could buy in selected H & M stores in Europe and North America, the Stella McCartney collection.

A special feature of the collections of McCartney is that they - describes her fashion as "vegan" - as a committed animal rights activist and a vegetarian. McCartney processed basically neither leather nor fur.
