Stephen Leaney

Stephen Leaney ( born March 10, 1969 in Busselton, Western Australia ) is an Australian professional golfer.

Career

In 1992 he became professional golfers and first turned to success with the PGA Tour of Australasia, where he was able to win even as an amateur tournament in the previous year. As of the 1998 season Leaney recorded regularly the European Tour and was the first year an impressive debut as eleventh on the money list and two tournament victories. Until 2003 he remained at this tournament series, won two more titles, including the prestigious German Masters in 2002, and tried it - to continue without this streak of success - on the North American PGA TOUR. These is a second place finish at the U.S. Open in 2003 and a fourth place finish at the WGC - Accenture Match Play Championship in 2004, where he narrowly lost in the semifinals Tiger Woods.

Leaney was a member of the International Team at the Presidents Cup in 2003, and he represented his country in the Dunhill Cup in 1999 and 2000, as well as in the WGC - World Cup 2004.

Stephen Leaney is married to his wife Tracey since 2001. The two have a child and residences in Perth and in the English Camberley.
