Steve Doocy
Stephen James "Steve" Doocy (* October 19, 1956 in Algona, Iowa) is an American television presenter and journalist. He was best known as co-presenter of the breakfast magazine Fox and Friends of the cable channel Fox News.
Life and work
Steve Doocy was born in 1956 in Algona in the U.S. state of Iowa. He spent his youth in Abilene, Kansas, where he attended schools in Russell, Salina and Industry. This was followed by a visit to the Junior High School in Wakefield and the High School in Clay Center. He then studied at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, which he left with a bachelor's degree in journalism.
As a journalist Doocy finally made the jump to television: On NBC, he presented intermittently broadcasts Wake Up America and House Party with Steve Doocy and the children's program Not Just News. He then worked for six years as a reporter for Radio Establishment WRC and for NBC. For CBS Doocy moderated temporarily the morning news on WCBS - TV in New York City.
Currently Doocy Gretchen Carlson and Brian is next Kilmeade one of three permanent co- hosts of the show Fox and Friends in the program of the cable news channel Fox News. The show, which runs between 6.00 und 9.00 clock clock Eastern Time, has been for several years the most successful pro rata basis information broadcast in the U.S. breakfast television. Its content offers a mix of contributions, the areas of " Politics and Society", sports and "entertainment, celebrities and obscure " are removed. The content is presented in Clip contributions and discussions of the moderators with guests in the studio or by remote control.
Like most presenters of Fox News is positioned as extremely conservative Doocy. Critics often accuse him and his co- presenters doing a biased coverage and commentary of the days events before, the exponents of conservative- Republican point of view moves generally in a positive light, while the representatives of "liberal" views and especially the Democratic Party most likely negative pose. This fact has made Doocy and his colleagues in the past to frequent targets of television comedians like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, as well as satirical blogs and columns.
Doocy has published two books that have made it onto the bestseller list of the New York Times: The Mr. and Mrs. Happy Handbook is dedicated to the topics of marriage and family, while Tales from the Dad Side addresses the issue of paternity.
Private lives Doocy, a devout Catholic, and his wife Kathy Gerrity and their three children, Peter, Mary and Sally in Wyckoff (New Jersey).
