Steve House

Steve House (* August 4, 1970 in La Grande, Oregon) is an American, a professional mountaineer. He is a mountain guide and lives in Ridgway in southwestern Colorado.

Life

House received his Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology at the Evergreen State College in 1995.

He holds several patents mountain guide, as of the '' International Union des Associations de Guides de Montagnes '' (since 1999) and the U.S. '' American Mountain Guides Association ( AMGA ) ''.

Achievements

He won with Vince Anderson on the 15th Piolet d'Or for his ascent of the Central Pillar of the Rupal face on Nanga Parbat in alpine style.

  • 2000: Slovak Direct route, Mount McKinley, Alaska Range, Alaska with Mark Twight and Scott Backes fastest and third ascent in 60 hours. (VI, 5.9, WI6, M5, 2950 meters wall height )
  • 2001 Cho Oyu ascent, climbing up and down in 20 hours
  • 2003 Talkeetna Standard Eye Tooth, Alaska Range, Alaska, USA; (V, 5.9, WI5 ) 1000 meters high, with Jeff Hollenbaugh
  • 2003 Roberts - Rowell -Ward route, Mt Dickey, Alaska Range, Alaska, USA; 2nd commission VI, 5.9, A2, 1675 meters high with Jeff Hollenbaugh
  • 2004 Southwest wall at K7, Charakusa Valley, Karakoram, Pakistan (Second ascent and first ascent of the route ) (VI, 5.10a, M6, A2, 80 degrees Steep ice, 2400m ), solo.
  • September 2005 central pillar of the Rupal face, (M5 X, 5.9, WI4, 4100 meters high), the Nanga Parbat with Vince Anderson. The wall is considered the highest rock face of the earth.
  • 2005 Cayesh ( 5719 m ), along with Marko Prezelj. Difficulty: M7 in mixed and 6b in the rock. 16 pitches
  • 2007 House - Haley ( WI5, M7, 1,750 meters high), Emperor Wall, Mount Robson, Canadian Rockies, Alberta, Canada.
  • 2007 K7 West Summit, Charakusa Valley, Karakoram, with Vince Anderson and Marko Prezelj, first ascent
  • 2008 House Anderson, north flank of Mount Alberta ( WI5 , M8, 1000 meters wall height ) with Vince Anderson, Alberta, Canada.
