Steve Jenkner

Steve Jenkner ( born May 31, 1976 in Lichtenstein ) is a former German motorcycle racer.

He is a qualified gas water installer and lives with his wife Mandy and their two children in Hohenstein- Ernstthal, in close proximity to the Sachsenring.

Career

His motorsport career began Steve Jenkner 1989 in ADAC Mini Bike Championship, in which he obtained in 1990 the ADAC Prize. About the stations ADAC Junior Cup and International German Championship as well as guest appearances in the European Championships in 1997 he managed the leap into the motorcycle world championship.

Since then, Steve Jenkner worked steadily at his abilities, the breakthrough came in the 2001 season with his first two podium finishes at the races in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. The season 2003, by winning the rain race in Assen and five other podium finishes its most successful World Cup year dar. on this success, however, was not able Jenkner 2004 season.

In 2005, forced by an age limit in the 125 cc class switch in the class up to 250 cm ³ was. The season started promisingly with little falls and injuries. At his home race at the Sachsenring, the ninth race in the 250cc class of the year, collected the axis with 14th place the first two championship points on his account. At the end Jenkner reached the World Cup only 23 course with 13 championship points.

Since he did not have a competitive material for the World Cup in 2006, Steve Jenkner officially withdrew from racing to a few months later, however, take the opportunity to sign a contract as a test driver for the Italian heritage brand Fantic. In this capacity, Jenkner went again at some races for the European Championship at the start.

He is currently working as a tire technician for the Japanese manufacturer Bridgestone in MotoGP class of the Motorcycle World Championship.
