List of Grand Prix motorcycle racing European champions

The Motorcycle Championship is the European Championship for street bikes.

It was fought from 1924 to 1939, and 1947 and 1948. In 1981 it was revived and takes place continuously since then. It will be awarded in several categories European Championship title, which are defined by displacement, number of cylinders, operation and weight.

Today, the EM shall, in addition to some strong national championships, as one of the stepping stones to the world championship for young riders.

Mode

Between 1924 and 1937, and in 1947 and 1948, the European Championship was in each case as a race, the Grand Prix of Europe, extended. The FICM each appointed a national Grand Prix, which was Championship run in a given year.

In the years 1938 and 1939, and since the resumption in 1981, there is a motorcycle championship of several runs where points are awarded. The rider with the most points at the end of the season wins the championship.
