Steve Stoll (musician)

Steve Stoll (born 1967 in Staten Iceland ) is the stage name of the American techno music producer and record label owner Stephen Stoll Mayer.

Stoll also produced under the pseudonyms Acid farm output, The Blunted Boy Wonder, cobalt, Critical Mass, Dark Man, Data Cloud, Floating Point, Mr. Proper, The Operator, Storm, Systematic, test tone and Time Attack.

Curriculum vitae

Raised in Brooklyn Stoll dealt at the age of 10 years with music and first learned to play the drums. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Gulf War, among others. After his service, he played drums for the band, among others, Sister Machine Gun, before turning to the techno music.

Page first solo album was released in 1993 on Data Cloud Richie Hawtin's label sample. Since the mid- 1990s was followed by a variety of other publications in the fields of Minimal Techno and Acid Techno and collaborations, eg with the ambient musician Pete Namlook. Ancillary works for Nova Mute and Djax -Up - Beats, he published mainly on his own label Proper NYC.
