Steven Kampfer

Steven Kampfer (* September 24, 1988 in Ann Arbor, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since February 2012 at the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Steven Kampfer began his career as a hockey player with the Sioux City Musketeers, for which he was active from 2004 to 2006 the Junior League United States Hockey League. Then he attended for four years, the University of Michigan, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. With his University of team he won the 2008 and 2010 the championship of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. During his university years he was in the fourth round selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 when a total of 93 players from the Anaheim Ducks, for whom he never played, however, as these rights transfer his duties later to the Boston Bruins. For Boston's farm team Providence Bruins of the defenders was towards the end of the 2009/10 season his debut in professional hockey when he was in the American Hockey League scored a goal in six games and had two assists.

In the season 2010/11 the Americans played in parallel for Providence in the AHL and Boston in the National Hockey League. With Boston, he won the Stanley Cup, but he lacked the required 41 games three inserts in the regular season to engrave his name on the Cup.

On 27 February 2012 it transferred the Boston Bruins in exchange for Greg Zanon of the Minnesota Wild.
