Still Life (US band)

Still Life was an existing 1989-2003 emocore band from Los Angeles, California, USA.

History

The three -piece band was founded in 1989 under the name Monster Club. It was not until 1991, when the first singer of the band got out to play in the band Strife, named one around in Still Life.

In 2003, the band gave a concert and was no longer active since then as a group.

Paul Rauch and David Pitzel founded in 2003, the band Old Ground, where they continue to use the label Sunflower Tribe founded for Still Life.

Style

Characteristic of their sound are typically hard scream outbreaks and slow parts, which more resembled the Melodic Hardcore. In a text at Greyday Productions we find the following about it:

The band also is considered extremely influential on other emocore and hardcore punk bands. In Ebullition Records, the influence of the band is described as follows:

"While other bands relied on raw hate or intense aggression, Still Life relied on pure emotion and honesty. Seeing them play live was a very emotional experience. It was very hardcore, and very real. [ ... ] They were on inspiration and a breath of fresh air. They helped to define emotive hardcore in the early '90s. "
