Stiv Bators

Stiv Bators, Steven John Bator actually (born 22 October 1949 in Youngstown, Ohio, June 3, 1990 † in Paris), was an American musician, actor and songwriter. He is best known as the frontman of the band The Dead Boys and The Lords of the New Church, as well as a soloist.

Biography

Stiv Bators first started with garage rock in Youngsten in the 70s. He was thrilled by Iggy Pop and moved similarly unrestrained on stage. Bators graduated in 1977 first in Cleveland Group "Frankenstein" at the Dead Boys was called shortly thereafter. He learned the Ramones know when these guest appearances in Ohio. Through their influence in the New York scene, the Dead Boys got the chance to present themselves to the punk crowd at CBGB. After the Dead Boys launched Bators, who had moved to Los Angeles, initially a solo career with the album Disconnected. He mixed it with pop punk. But the work as a soloist satisfy him only briefly, so he already founded end of the year together with guitarist Dave Parsons, drummer Rick Goldstein and bassist Dave Tregunna, all former members of Sham 69, the group The Wanderers. The band brought out only a single plate, the concept album Only Lovers Left Alive, which focused on the subject of schizophrenia.

In 1981 Bators an excursion into the film industry and played a small role in the film comedy polyester of John Waters. Then he rehearsed first with Brian James, who had just left The Damned, ex - Generation X bassist Tony James and Terry Chimes, the former drummer of The Clash, a little later with musicians who formerly of The Damned and Sham 69 came. On June 3, 1990 Bators was hit while crossing the street in Paris by a car. He was taken to the emergency room to the hospital, where he apparently had to wait only slightly injured a long time. Before a doctor could check him, he went home, where he died in his sleep from the effects of a concussion.
