Stoke Mandeville

Stoke Mandeville is a village with approximately 6,000 inhabitants in Buckinghamshire, England.

The town was mentioned as Stoches to 1086 for the first time. As the site perished in 1284 in the possession of a Norman noble family de Mandeville, Mandeville, the addition was added.

In 1948, the first Stoke Mandeville found Wheelchair and Amputee World Cup is held. A total of eight times for these World Championships were held in the town, which became the template of the Paralympics later.

The mascot Mandeville for the Summer Paralympics in London in 2012 was named after the place.
