Stoneyburn

Stoneyburn is a village in West Lothian, Scotland. Closeby towns are Bathgate, Whitburn, Addiewell and Blackburn.

Location

Stoneyburn is in the middle of Central Scotland, about 3 kilometers south of Bathgate and 4 kilometers west of Livingston. The village lies in the middle of the two main cities of Scotland: Glasgow (about 20 km to the west) and Edinburgh (about 20 km to the east). Scotland's main motorway, the M8, is 1.5 km from the village. Nevertheless, the area is essentially rural in nature by dairy farms and fields.

Village life

Long live 3,390 people in the town ( 2004). Community life is determined by a bowling club and a private football team. There are two primary schools, a Catholic church and there is a lodge of Freemasons.
