Stony Brook (MBTA-Station)

Stony Brook is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides access to the metro line Orange Line.

History

The station was opened on May 4, 1987 in parallel to the Northeast Corridor as part of the renovation and relocation of the Orange Line.

Metro Station has a total of two tracks, which are accessible via a central platform.

Building

The metro station is located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood at the address 100 Boylston Street at 180 Lamartine Street. The building is completely accessible.

As part of the Arts on the Line project, the MBTA the ceramic mosaic "Life Around Here " by Malou Flato was installed in the station. In addition, located outside the station two granite monuments engraved with texts ( "Mrs. Baez Serves Coffee on the Third Floor " by Martin Espada and " The Dinner " by Rosario Morales ).
