Storlien

Storlien is a small place ( Småort ) in the Swedish province of Jämtland County and the historic county of Jämtland.

The ski resort in the municipality of Åre has 97 inhabitants and is located about two kilometers from the Norwegian border. Its existence is based mainly on winter tourism as it offers good conditions for alpine skiing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. The transport of the surrounding mountain peaks take nine lifts. In the summer, start mountain hiking and hunting tours. In recent decades, the retail of the place took too much, as many Norwegians come across the border to buy cheaper here.

Traffic

Storlien, located on the street 14 and at the railway Östersund- Trondheim and has a railway station in the town center. Mainly in the winter season there are several night trains to Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.

The nearest airport is Trondheim Værnes, about 70 kilometers to the west. In Sweden, we find the next landing area 150 kilometers east in Östersund.
