Strathcarron, Highland

Strathcarron ( Scottish Gaelic: Strath Carrann ) is a small village in the Highlands Council Area in Scotland. It is located about two kilometers landward from the eastern end of Loch Carron, an estuary on the west coast, between the River Carron and its tributary, the River Taodail.

The town consists mainly of the railway station on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line with a post office, a small shop, the Strathcarron Hotel, as well as some farms and cottages. At the station there is also a small tourist office. The railway line is in Strathcarron crossed by the A890, about two kilometers north branches from the A896 towards Applecross and Shieldaig.
