Stu Hamer

Stuart " Stu " Hamer ( born 1934 in Liverpool ) is a British jazz musician (trumpet, piano later ).

Life and work

Hamer, whose family built the dance hall Grafton Rooms for operation, in which the Duke Ellington Orchestra occurred, had along with his brothers George and Ian Hamer he had first appearances in the volume of his mother. In 1957 he moved to Germany, where he first played at Roland Kovac ( appearance on the German Jazz Festival 1958). In 1959 he as Albert Mangelsdorff and Oscar Pettiford was one of the German All Stars, replacing Dusko Goykovich in hr- jazz ensemble. He also has performed with Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson.
