Stubble Trouble

Stubble Trouble is an American animated short film directed by Joseph E. Merideth from the year 2000.

Action

A cave man drumming for a cave woman, but rejects him because he wears a full beard. Instead, she goes out with a muscle-bound giant, which has not a single hair of the beard. The cave man trying different ways to get rid of his beard - he shaves himself with a knife, a whetstone, a dinosaur tooth and a hedgehog - but with the hairs grow back in no time. The cave man is depressed, but soon meets a red-haired Amazon with a long red beard who takes him thrilled with it.

Production

Stubble Trouble was Merideths debut film at Calabash. He served three years on the film, which was produced in cel and computer animation. Stubble Trouble came to the U.S. cinemas on June 2, 2000.

Awards

Stubble Trouble was nominated in 2002 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against the scarecrow itself. He was also nominated for a 2001 Annie Award.
