Stylonurina

Stylonurina is one of two suborders of the order of the sea scorpions ( Eurypterida ). They are considered the basal ( original ) Eurypteriden. From it both the oldest ( Brachyopterus stubblefieldi from the early Oberordovizium ( Sandbium ) of Wales ) originate as well as the youngest ( Hibbertopterus permianus from the Upper Permian ( Wuchiapingium ) of Russia ) known member of the Eurypterida.
Features
Stylonurina had cross- stitching on the ventral plates and had no modified Podomere 7a at the prosomal limb VI.
Locations
Representatives of the suborder Stylonurina were on all continents, except Antarctica, found.

The subordination was established in 1924 by Karl servant. It includes after Lamsdell, Braddy & Tetlie 2010, the following superfamilies and incertae sedis genus one:
