Sugar Loaf field
Carioca (or sugar loaf ) is an oil field off the Brazilian coast. It is located in the Campos Basin, about 273 km south of Rio de Janeiro at a depth of 2140 m. The known on 10 September 2007 made finding was quickly hailed as one of the largest deposits. Haroldo Lima, Chairman of the National Petroleum Agency ( ANP), spoke of an amount up to 33 billion barrels, however, were quickly revised again, as was at the time of exploration prior to a test hole. In April 2011, additional test drilling has been announced in Lima.
Conveying rights to Carioca have Petrobras ( 45%), BG Group ( 30%) and Repsol YPF Brasil SA ( 25%).
