Suldalslågen

The Suldalslågen (also Lågen ) is a river in the municipality of Suldal in Rogaland in southwestern Norway. The river drains the lake Suldalsvatnet to Sandfjord. He covers a distance of 22 km. His mouth is sand at the site. The natural catchment area of ​​1463 km ² comprises Suldalslågen.

Since the 1960s, the outflow of Suldalslågen is regulated for the purpose of energy production. A large part of the water now flows directly from Suldalsvatnet Kraftverk to Hylen, located at Hylsfjord. Nevertheless, the Suldalslågen is considered a good salmon waters, especially below Sandsfossen.
