The Sundrun (Russian Сундрун ) is a 314 km long tributary of the East Siberian Sea in the Kolyma lowland in the north- east of the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia).

Course

The Sundrun rises in the eastern part of the Ulachan - Sis - back, which rises from the Kolyma lowland, the eastern part of the extensive East Siberian lowlands. From its northern edge it flows, the foothills of the mountain ridge quickly leaving predominantly north-north- east and tortuous running through uninhabited areas of the lowlands. Finally, it flows east of Indigirka deltas in the East Siberian Sea, part of the Arctic Ocean.

Hydrology and ice

The catchment area of ​​4170 km ² Sundrun is large, and its largest tributary is the 235 km long right-sided Small Chomus - Jurjach. The river is covered annually on average from early October to mid-June of ice. If then in the summer snow and ice melt and permafrost thaw, there is strong flood.

Flora and Fauna

The landscape of thousands of lakes and numerous swamps is traversed by many reindeer, there are nuns Cranes ( also called Siberian Crane ), ringed and geese and tundra swans and the waters are rich in fish.
