SunExpress (actually SunExpress Güneş Ekspress Havacilik A.Ş. ) is a Turkish low-cost airline based in Antalya and bases at the airports Antalya, Istanbul- Sabiha Gökçen and İzmir.

History

SunExpress was founded in 1989 as a joint venture of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Turkish Airlines, initially with a Boeing 737-300 and 64 employees. In 1995, the Lufthansa Group transferred its 50 percent stake in Condor to bundle all tourist flights under one roof, then took it over but in February 2007 as part of an exchange of shares in the takeover of the Condor by the Thomas Cook Group back.
