Susan Berresford

Susan Vail Berresford ( born January 8, 1943) from 1996 to 2007, the President of the Ford Foundation. Since 2008 she works as Philanthropieberater in the Department of New York Community Trust.

Ms. Berresford attended Vassar College from 1961 to 1963 and then studied American history at Radcliffe College, where she completed her studies cum laude in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA). She currently leads several projects of the Ford Foundation and joined in October 2008, the American Fund for the National Committee of UNICEF. Berresford was elected on 3 April 1996 as President of the Ford Foundation. Before the election, she was Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of the Foundation. In 1970, she joined the Ford Foundation as a project assistant in the Department of National Affairs. In this department she worked 1972-1980 as a program officer. In 1980 she was appointed head of the Women's Program. It was in 1981 Vice - President of the Foundation in the USA for International Affairs and later Vice - President of the Department of the worldwide programming sales a year. From 1965 - 1967 Berresford was employed by the Foundation as a program officer for the Neighborhood Youth Corps. 1967-1968 she worked in the Manpower Career Development Agency. Berresford is a board member of the Council of the Foundation and a member of the Trilateral Commission. She is also a council member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was in the committees of the Chase Manhattan Bank, Hermione and Robert Popper Foundation employs.

She is also a board member and chairman of the United States Artists, while it also serves as a council member of the Trinidad Trust Fund ( California). Ms. Berresford is a member of the Council for National Affairs and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. As stewards of the California Endowment Foundation and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. She called the " US- Vietnam Dialogue Group on Agent Orange / Dioxin " into life.
