Susanne Bobzien

Susanne Bobzien (* 1960 in Hamburg) is a philosopher and historian of philosophy. She is currently Professor of Philosophy at Oxford University and a Senior Research Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford.

Life

Bobzien studied from 1980 to 1987 at the University of Bonn, she obtained her Master's degree there in 1985. Next she studied from 1987 to 1989 at Somerville College, Oxford. From 1989 to 1990 she was a Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford. In 1990, she earned his master's degree honorary (MA Oxon ). In 1993, she earned her doctorate ( D.Phil. ) At the University of Oxford. From 1990 to 2002 she was a tutor and Praelector in philosophy and Michel Fellow of Queen's College, Oxford. From 2002 to 2010 she taught as a philosophy professor at Yale University.

Research priorities

Bobziens publications are mainly in the fields of ancient logic, determinism and freedom, as well as language philosophy, especially vagueness and paradoxes.
