Susanne Munk Wilbek ( born October 12, 1967 in Hvorslev, Denmark; born Susanne Munk Lauritsen ) is a former Danish handball player.

Career

Wilbek started playing handball at Vellev IF. Subsequently, the goalkeeper joined Viborg HK. Until her career end in 2001 Wilbek was a total of 15 seasons at the squad of the women's team, with which she won the Danish championship seven times.

Wilbek played 171 matches for the Danish women's handball national team, in which they scored three goals. With Denmark, she won the World Cup in 1997 and the European Championships in 1994 and European Championships 1996. Moreover, she won with Denmark at the 1996 Olympics gold medal.

After her career Wilbek took over the Assistant coach in Viborg, where she was released in 2006. 2008 Wilbek joined the coaching team at Skjern Håndbold, in which she led, among other things Torwarttrainng the men's team. In summer 2011, she returned as Tournament Director for Viborg HK. Since 2013 Wilbek has worked as a goalkeeper coach and the newcomers in Viborg HK.

Susanne Munk Wilbek is married to the Danish handball coach Ulrik Wilbek.
