The Suter head is 461.8 m above sea level. NN high elevation in the Taunus low mountain range in Limburg- Weilburg, Hesse.

Location

The Suter head is located in the eastern Hintertaunus, in Taunus Nature Park, in the district of Haintchen. The forested mountain is part of the Feldberg- long-necked horse head - floe that separates the Emsbachtal from Weiltal. He is one of the highest mountains of northwestern high plaice. About 0.8 kilometers north of the Koberg ( 460.5 m) and 2.1 km south-southeast is the 525.6 m high Kuhbett.

Observation tower

On the Suter head was during the Second World War, an observation tower with a wide panoramic view in the surrounding area. From there, there was a phone booth line through to Haintchen to report fire and smoke in the area. After the war the tower was dismantled for safety reasons.

Naming

The origin of the name " Suter " is not exactly busy. Maybe he goes back and wallowing of deer and wild boar on the wet, muddy forest below the mountain.
