Sweden Rock Festival

The Sweden Rock Festival is an annually since June 6, 1992 that takes place in Sweden Music Festival, Rock and Metal occur mainly on the bands and artists from the fields. 2011, it was attended by about 35,000 people.

History

The founder Ingolf Persson held on June 6, first time in 1992 a one-day festival under the name Summer Festival in the Swedish Olofström, headliner was Nazareth and the event attracted about 2,500 people. Due to the unexpected success of the Sweden Rock found in the following year rather than on a larger site in Charles Hamm, was renamed Karl Hamm Rock Festival and expanded to two days. After 7500 visitors the capacity of the festival site in Charles Hamm was exhausted for the first time in 1996, a new site was sought and the Sweden Rock is under this name since 1998 in Norje near Sölvesborg instead. In 2000, Michael Ivarsson was entrusted with the organization of the festival, claims to be the responsible organizer until then were pure investors, while he brought the necessary know -how from the music business.

2003-2007, the three-day period was established, since 2008, the festival lasts four days, at which about 120 different bands and artists perform. Meanwhile, the Sweden Rock, with more than 30,000 visitors to the most important Rock-/Metal-Festivals the world.

Well-known artists that have occurred include, without limitation Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Uriah Heep, Europe, Deep Purple, Accept, Motörhead, Saxon, Nazareth, Poison, Status Quo, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Scorpions, Porcupine Tree, Kamelot, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Testament, WASP, ZZ Top, The Orchestra, Thin Lizzy and Guns N ' Roses.
