Åšwielubie, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Świelubie ( German Zwilipp, outdated Zwilip, Zwielipp ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the Gmina Dygowo (Town Degow ) in the powiat Kołobrzeski ( Kolberg ).

Geographical location

The village is located in Eastern Pomerania, about 6 km southwest of Dygowo ( Degow ), 12 km south-east of Kolobrzeg ( Kolberg) and 105 km northeast of the provincial capital, Stettin ( Szczecin).

History

The first time in 1930 renovated Gothic church burned down by lightning in June 1945. The postwar turmoil prevented unloading operations and delayed repairs. In the 1950s, the church was rebuilt but functional. In 1989, burned in a fire, a large portion of the interior and also the bell tower was damaged. During the reconstruction in the 1990s, the original third floor of the tower was not restored, so he is now lower.

For parish Zwilipp included the villages Pustar ( this only since 1911), Bartin and Lustebuhr. By 1945, Pomerania was part of Germany and had a German population, see History of Pomerania. Here lived and worked from home and family researchers for Pomerania Ferdinand Asmus, who was also the village school teacher there. Today, the church belongs to the parish of Dygowo.
