Swing Kids (Band)

Swing Kids was a mid-90s existing emocore / hardcore punk band from San Diego, California / USA.

History

The band was active only a few years, yet is their influence on other emocore, especially on later called screamo bands, great. So the band itself is often attributed to the Screamo.

After the dissolution committed Eric Allen, who still played in the hardcore punk band Unbroken, Suicide. Justin Pearson was then active in numerous bands, notably in The Locust, Holy Molar, Some Girls and The Crimson Curse.

Style

Your style should be typical of the Emo and Screamo later sound. Influential was the vocals of Justin person between the emotionally sung texts and word repetitions to longer - commuted cry Parts - sometimes brutal.

The song structure often seems chaotic, which was formative for later Screamobands. So go fast and slower parts, as well as quieter parts and explosive eruptions from.

In particular, the 7 " is interspersed with quotations from the Jazz History, as found in Innensleeve a picture of Marion Brown and the piano / drums - Intro of the first piece is a clear homage to Cecil Taylor.
