Sylvester McCoy

Sylvester McCoy ( born August 20, 1943 in Dunoon, Scotland as Percy James Patrick Kent - Smith) is a Scottish actor. His most famous role is that of the seventh Doctor in Doctor Who.

Life

McCoy had an Irish mother and an English father. He grew up primarily in Dublin. In his youth he wanted to be a priest, but gave it up and worked for an insurance company.

He became known as a member of the comedy group The Ken Campbell Roadshow. A role was a stuntman named Sylveste McCoy. The name was listed as his real fun in a program booklet and developed by a misunderstanding about his stage name. He later added an "r ".

He had television appearances including in Vision On, Jigsaw and Tiswas.

McCoy lives in Scotland with his wife and two children.

Doctor Who

In 1987, Sylvester McCoy the coveted role of the Doctor Colin Baker and held it up to that end of the series in 1989.
