Peter Davison

Peter Davison ( born April 13, 1951 in Streatham, London; actually Peter Moffett ) is an English actor.

Life and work

The son of an electrical engineer, who was originally from Guyana, grew up in a small town near Woking on the west of the English county of Surrey. Before Davison came to acting, he held various odd jobs, so he worked among other things as a mortician.

Davison studied at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He received his first engagement in 1972 at the Nottingham Playhouse in Nottingham. As an artist name he chose Peter Davison, not to be confused with the actor and director Peter Moffatt, with the Davison later worked. His first television role was an episode of the popular UK fantasy series The Tomorrow People in 1975. During filming, he met the American actress Sandra Dickinson, whom he later married. From 1978 stood Davison as " Tristan Farnon " in the BBC television series Doctor and Small front of the camera, which was based on the novels of veterinarian James Herriot. Through the series Davison was also known in Germany an audience of millions. Also in 1978, he starred opposite Jeremy Irons in the TV miniseries Love for Lydia with, which was also broadcast in Germany.

Between 1981 and 1984 he played in the BBC cult series Doctor Who the fifth Doctor.

2010 Davison played in London in the musical Legally Blonde one of the main roles. Since 2011 he is one of the main characters of the series Law & Order: UK.

Private life

1978 Davison married the actress Sandra Dickinson. With her he got in 1984 a daughter, Georgia Moffett, who also works as an actress. After the divorce in 1994 he married Elizabeth Morton 2003, with whom he has two sons.
