Matt Smith (actor)
Matthew Robert Smith ( born October 28, 1982 in Northampton, England) is a British theater and television actor.
Career
Having been involved in several theater productions, he had his first television role in 2006 in the BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North on the side of Billie Piper. His first major role came in 2007 as Danny in the BBC series Party Animals. He was cast as the eleventh Doctor of the British cult science fiction series Doctor Who end of 2009. He has competed at the end of the episode The End of Time with the regeneration of the tenth the eleventh Doctor 's role and fill it since the fifth season (from 2010) of the series from. This surprised a lot because Smith was a relatively unknown actor. The speculations of the fans for the succession of David Tennant revolved mainly around the name David Morrissey and Paterson Joseph and James Nesbitt. Smith was the youngest actor who could play the doctor - one of probably the most coveted roles in Britain. In an interview with "The Guardian" ( 3.12.2011 ) he described himself as [ atheists | | Atheist ].
Smith left the show after the Christmas Special 2013.
