Matt Smith (actor)

Matthew Robert Smith ( born October 28, 1982 in Northampton, England) is a British theater and television actor.

Career

Having been involved in several theater productions, he had his first television role in 2006 in the BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North on the side of Billie Piper. His first major role came in 2007 as Danny in the BBC series Party Animals. He was cast as the eleventh Doctor of the British cult science fiction series Doctor Who end of 2009.
