Syrian Communist Party (Unified)

The Syrian Communist Party ( united ) ( Parti Communiste french syria - unifié, Arabic الحزب الشيوعي السوري - الموحد al - Hizb al - Schujū'ī al -suri ), briefly known as the Syrian Communist Party, is a political party in Syria.

The party evolved from the split in the Syrian Communist Party in 1986 and was founded by the pro- perestroika faction under Yusuf Faisal ( the anti- perestroika faction was the Communist Party of Khalid Bakdasch ). At the time of the Damascus Spring in 2000, it was the party allowed a newspaper called an- Nour ( ' light ' ) surrendered.

The Eleventh Party Congress, which was held in March 2011, Hanin Nimir elected as First Secretary of the party again. In the parliamentary elections in Syria in 2007, the party won 3 seats. In the 2012 elections the party again won 3 seats. The party is a coalition partner of the Baath party in the National Progressive Front.
