Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Irinjalakuda

The Diocese of Irinjalakuda (Latin: Dioecesis Irinialakudensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar Church, based in Irinjalakuda in India. It includes a part of Thrissur district in the Indian state of Kerala.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Trichuriensis eparchiae on June 22, 1978 from annexations of the Eparchy of Trichur; it became the Archdiocese of Ernakulam- Angamaly assumed as suffragan.

On May 18, 1995 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of archeparchy Trichur.
