Systems Modeling Language

The Systems Modeling Language (OMG SysML ) is a graphical, UML-based 2, standardized modeling language. Your application it finds in the area of systems engineering for the modeling of various complex systems. The quantity defined in SysML diagrams consists of a subset of diagrams, which can be derived from defined in UML 2 diagrams, supplemented by specific SysML diagrams. There are structural and behavioral diagrams distinguished ( see chart). The requirement diagram as SysML specific chart type plays a single role.

Genesis

In September 2001, by the Object Management Group (OMG ) was established in collaboration with the International Council on Systems Engineering ( INCOSE ), Systems Engineering Domain Special Interest Group launched to develop a standardized extension of UML 2 as a modeling language for system design. In May 2003, a working group was formed. In addition to tool manufacturers such as Artisan Software Tools, IBM and Telelogic example, Motorola, Lockheed Martin or oose Innovative computer science GmbH active.

SysML has been recognized on 6 July 2006 by the OMG as "Final Adopted Specification". From 1 September 2007 OMG SysML has been officially released version 1.0. Version 1.1 was completed on November 2, 2008. This was followed by versions 1.2 on 1 June 2010 and the 1.3 on 1 June 2012.

Objectives

SysML supports the analysis, design and testing of complex systems.

  • Model system requirements and provide
  • Analyze and evaluate systems to resolve requirements and design issues and to consider alternatives.
  • Communicate system information between different stakeholders clearly
