The airfield Szczecin Dabie is mainly used for sporting aviators and is located in the Dabie area.

History

The plans for an airport in Szczecin began in 1921. Firstly, a seaplane base was considered, which offered through the nearby port. They chose a compromise solution and planned the building on the south bank of the dam 's lake. In December 1924, the corresponding Szczecin Airport GmbH was founded. From 1926 the German Lufthansa flew to the airport still under construction. On the grounds were located next to the airstrip a workshop, administration building, a terminal building and lounges for travelers and airline personnel. The official opening took place on 19 June 1927. The major compounds were to Berlin and Gdansk. In 1934 the airport a radio and a tracking device on a 45 m high antenna mast. 1935 Luftwaffe units were stationed here.

After the Second World War, the airport lost all meaning by the construction of the airport Szczecin - Goleniów.
