Szymonowo

Szymonowo ( German United Simnau ) is a town in Poland, about twelve kilometers west of Morag ( German Morag ). The village belongs to the municipality ( gmina Polish ) Maldyty in powiat Ostródzki, Warmia - Mazury. Szymonowo is the seat of the Gmina Office Schulz Maldyty, belongs to the next to the village itself Szymonowo also the village Plękity ( German Plenkitten ).

About a kilometer east of the Lake Ruda Woda Szymonowo is ( German Röthloffsee ).

History

In the former East Prussia Simnau was a good. The last landowner was the Earl Hans Nikolaus Finck von Finckenstein ( chamberlain of the Viktoria Luise of Prussia ) and his son Hans Wolfram Finck von Finckenstein (agricultural historian and writer ). 1929 was the property no longer be held and was settled. Beginning of the 20th century was the Gutsgröße 1500 ha Good to hear Homesteads, a dairy, a brick factory and a sawmill. The Barbican of the goods was Dosnitten.

Between 1525 and 1945 the United Simnau was the seat of a Lutheran church. In 1900, belonged to the parish of the places much Simnau, Bagnitten, Dosnitten, courtyards, large and small edges, Linkenau (village and Good), Plenkitten, Plössen, Schmolainen, Small Simnau and Wodigehnen. The priest was at the same local school inspector of the three elementary schools in the United Simnau, Bagnitten and Linkenau, involving a total of three teachers were employed. Patron of the parish was Count von Finckenstein large Simnau. The community had almost 1100 members.

The Good Great Simnau had the status of a Gutsbezirks in the 19th century. In 1874 he formed together with the rural community Klein Simnau the District United Simnau district Morag. District and community Simnau existed in this form until 1945.

Built in the early 20th century manor house is now used as a children's home.
